Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell Find ‘Incredible Joy’ Doting on 7 Grandkids & Dressed Up as Royals for Her Mini-Me

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are one of Hollywood’s most inspiring couples. Although they are not married, the pair have maintained a relationship spanning more than three decades. In addition to the love they share, Hawn and Russell are doting to one and grandparents to seven grandkids. Here is a look into their personal lives.

Entertainment Icons Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have one of Hollywood’s most enduring love stories. Their romance journey began on February 14, 1983, and after 39 years together, the lovebirds are still waxing stronger.

However, although the couple seems perfect for each other, they have decided not to climb the marriage train. Over the years, the pair’s decision to remain unmarried has sparked a lot of questions from fans who are eager to know the reason for their choice.

Thankfully, the public has gotten answers as Hawn has repeatedly opened up about her and Russell’s romance and why they will not be taking their relationship to the next level.

In 2015, during an interview on the ITV daytime show “Loose Women,” the actress noted that had she been married to Russell, she would have been divorced long ago. According to Hawn, marriage was psychological and was only important if one felt the need to be bound to someone.

She further said that for someone who had money and loved being independent, being unmarried was psychologically fulfilling because there was freedom to make decisions one way or the other. Additionally, Hawn confessed:

“For me, I chose to stay. Kurt chose to stay, and we like the choice.”

Indeed, the Hollywood stars have proven that not tying the knot may be the best choice for them, as they have never been apart since they started dating.

After nearly four decades of a sweet romance, Hawn and Russell have other things that bind them together, other than the love they share, one of which is family.

The couple is doting parents to one child, Wyatt. Besides their only son, Hawn and Russell are bonus parents to each other’s children from previous relationships.

The “The Christmas Chronicles” actress was married to Bill Hudson, and the pair welcomed two children — their son, Oliver, in 1976 and their daughter Kate, three years later.

On the other hand, Russell fathered a son, Boston, in 1980 with his ex-wife Season Hubley, whom he married in 1979 and divorced in 1983.

Ultimately, even though Hawn and the “Escape from New York” star are unmarried, their romance is more inspiring than many married couples in Hollywood.

The show business stars are now expanding their brood and enjoying much-needed family time. Additionally, as much as they love parenthood, becoming grandparents has become an even bigger deal for the couple.

Inside Hawn and Russell’s lives as Grandparents
Hawn and Russell rarely give interviews, but they often mention their grandchildren whenever they do. In 2022, the award-winning actress chatted with People, revealing what it felt like to have a granddaughter. Hawn, who already had two grandsons from her daughter, explained that it felt different when Kate welcomed a girl. In her words:

“When your daughter has a daughter, it’s a big deal. I mean, it really is.”

Besides being grandparents to Kate’s daughter, Rani Rose Hudson, Hawn and Russell have six other grandchildren — Kate’s two sons, Ryder and Bigham; Oliver’s three children, Wilder, Bodhi, and Wyatt’s only child, Buddy.

Recently, the couple’s granddaughter, Rani Rose, celebrated her fourth birthday, and Hawn marked the occasion with a lovely post.
Hawn once revealed that her children are great with their children, and she could not be prouder. According to the actress, her three children have implemented some of her parenting techniques, which have proven efficient.

Now, Hawn is grateful for raising her children appropriately, as their upbringing has, in turn, affected their children.

Meanwhile, Hawn and Russell’s grandkids are growing by the day; according to a report, they have a special name for their grandparents. Unlike the usual “grandma” and “grandpa” titles, their grandkids address Hawn and Russell as Gogo and Gogi.

According to the couple’s son, Wyatt, “Gogi” was the actor’s nickname in life while “Gogo” was Hawn’s nickname, hence their grandkids’ decision to address them.

Well, it seems like Hawn and Russell have no issues with the nicknames as the duo continues to dote on their grandchildren and share how much their roles mean to them. During a 2017 chat, the “The First Wives Club” actress mentioned that being a grandparent brought so much work. According to Hawn:

“Being a grandmother is amazing, I love it. It brings incredible joy. Family is so important.”

Speaking of the importance of family, Hawn and Russell always create time out of their busy schedules to spend time with their grandkids, especially during the Holidays.

The “Big Trouble In Little China” once mentioned that he and his partner had a sweet family tradition with their grandchildren during Christmas.

According to Russell, they would always trim the tree on Christmas Eve and have a big dinner together. Afterward, the grandchildren would put on their pajamas and hang up their stockings. Then, everyone would start a fire, and when it was dark, Hawn and Russell would pick someone to read “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

Overall, the Holidays are an amazing time for everyone in the family. Besides spending time with their grandchildren whenever they can, Hawn and Russell love to flaunt them on social media, especially on special occasions.

Hawn and Russell Celebrate with Their Granddaughter
Recently, the couple’s granddaughter, Rani Rose, celebrated her fourth birthday, and Hawn marked the occasion with a lovely post.

Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared a picture of her, Russell, and the celebrant dressed in royal blue outfits, finishing their looks with gold and silver crowns and tiaras.

The trio seemed quite happy as they grinned from ear to ear while posing with their hands by their sides in front of flower pots. Hawn shared the picture alongside a caption that read:

“Happy 4th birthday our precious Rani Rose🌹You are the real queen! I’ll take lady in waiting everyday as long as the prince is always beside me. WE LOVE YOU!!! 💕💕💕💕🎂🎂🎂🎂.”

Rani Rose joined the brood in October 2018, and her arrival brought so much happiness to the family. Shortly after she was born, Russell explained the little girl was a fantastic addition to the family. According to him, he looked forward to seeing her look at the lights on the Christmas tree for the first time.

Four years later, Russell is still happy to have his little granddaughter in his life. Undoubtedly, the actor and his wife could not feel more blessed for their roles. They are amazing grandparents, and even their kids can testify. Oliver once said:

“My parents are amazing grandparents. We’re a very tight family. We all live very close to each other. They’re amazing people, amazing grandparents, amazing parents.”

Oliver is not the only child who feels grateful to have Hawn and Russell as their kids’ grandparents — Kate also is! According to a source, when she drops her kids off at her mother’s house, she is sure they are safe, sound, and learning. Indeed, having the actress as a mother and grandma is a huge blessing, and Kate knows this.
